Getting started with BusinessOpportunities.co.za

BusinessOpportunities.co.za is a premier B2B (business-to-business) platform designed for product syndication, discovery, and promotion.
For a single annual fee, suppliers can showcase their entire product catalog—either through bulk import or by adding items individually—making it easier for entrepreneurs to discover what they need to start, manage, and grow their businesses.
Entrepreneurs can explore a wide range of equipment and supplies effortlessly. No sign-up is required; simply search by supplier, product, or business category to find the perfect solutions for your needs.
If you're a supplier interested in featuring your products on the platform, read on to learn how to get started.

To join BusinessOpportunities.co.za and start adding your products, click the Sign Up button located in the navigation bar.
- Fill in your email address, username (we recommend using your business name as your username), and enter your password twice. Ensure your password meets the platform's security requirements.
- Once all fields are completed, click the Create Account button.
Email Verification
After signing up successfully, you'll receive a prompt to verify your email address. Check your inbox for an email with the subject: "[BusinessOpportunities.co.za] Please Confirm Your Email Address."
- If you don't see the email, check your spam or junk folder.
- If it still hasn’t arrived after a few minutes, feel free to contact us for assistance.
Click the verification link in the email to confirm your account. Once verified, you'll be redirected to your Profile/Settings page.
Updating Your Profile
On your Profile/Settings page, you'll find an Edit Profile button. Use this to add:
- A brief about/bio section,
- Your business logo,
- A banner image to personalize your profile,
- The industry your business is active in.

To publish your products on BusinessOpportunities.co.za, you'll need an active subscription.
How to Subscribe
When you first visit your profile page, you'll see a green Subscribe button. Click this button to begin the subscription process.
You’ll be redirected to a page displaying the current subscription price, duration, and a Get Started Today button. Click this button to proceed.
You'll then be taken to a Payfast payment page to complete your subscription.
Choose your preferred payment option and follow the prompts to finalise the payment.
After Payment
- Upon successful payment, you'll be directed to a Payment Successful page, which includes a link to your user profile.
- Clicking the link will take you back to your profile page, where you can start adding your products.
- Alternatively, you can access your profile anytime by clicking the Settings link in the menu.

Once you’ve successfully subscribed, your Profile Page will include the following features:
Adding Products
You have two options for adding products to the platform:
- Import Product Feed: Import a list of products directly from your website.
- Add Single Product: Add individual products one at a time.
After Adding Products
Once products have been added, your profile page will expand to include:
1. Analytics Overview
Track the performance of your products on the platform:
- Views and Clicks: See data for today, yesterday, and all time.
- Product-specific Analytics: View detailed stats for each product.
2. Your Products (#)
- Displays the total number of products you’ve added.
- Includes a Delete All Products button (use with caution; this will reset analytics as they are linked to specific products).
3. Search Bar
Easily search through your product catalog.
4. Product List
View your products 20 at a time, with pagination to navigate through your catalog.
For each product, you’ll see:
- Image, Title, and Price
- Views and Clicks
- Edit and Delete buttons
5. Status Indicators
Each product includes a status indicator:
- Green: Published (visible to all users)
- Yellow: Draft (visible only to you; analytics do not increment)
- Red: Archived (visible only to you; analytics do not increment)
With these features, you can efficiently manage and monitor your products on the platform.

You can add products to the platform in two ways:
- Via a product feed (automated import)
- Manually, one product at a time
Importing a Product Feed
To import products automatically, you will need the URL of your product sitemap. Most content management systems (CMS) generate sitemaps to help search engines crawl your site, and we can use these to import your products.
Finding Your Product Sitemap
Locate your sitemap:
- Most sitemaps are accessible at
https://yourdomain.co.za/sitemap.xml
. - If this does not redirect to your sitemap, use a free tool like SEOmator to locate it.
Identify your product sitemap:
- When accessing
/sitemap.xml
, you may see a collection of sitemaps. - Look for ones labeled as "product sitemap" (e.g.,
https://yourdomain.co.za/product-sitemap1.xml
). These contain the product information we need for importing.
Ensuring Compatibility
Before proceeding with an automatic import, please contact us so we can test the compatibility of your sitemap with our platform. If your sitemap is incompatible, you’ll need to add products manually.
Importing Your Products
- Copy the link to your product sitemap.
- Paste it into the input field under the Add Products section on your profile page.
- Click the Import button.
A loading indicator will appear.
Depending on the number of products, the process may take several minutes. Do not refresh or close the page during this time, as this could interrupt the import.
If the process is still running after 30 minutes, please contact us using the telephone number provided on the interface.
After Importing
- If the import fails, you won’t see any products. Try the process again or contact us for support.
- Once successful, a list of your products will appear.
Resolving Import Issues
Some products may not import perfectly. Common issues include:
- Prices: Products may display "Check for price" if the price format couldn't be imported.
- Images: Missing images will display "Image coming soon."
- Partial Imports: A few products may not be imported due to compatibility issues.
- Descriptions: Descriptions might need minor edits.
For any of these issues, you can:
- Use the Edit button to update incomplete product information.
- Add any missing products manually.
By following these steps, you can ensure your product catalog is accurate and up-to-date on the platform.

When you click Edit on a product, you’ll have access to the following fields (required fields are marked with an asterisk):
Editable Fields
Title*
The name of the product.
Price
- You can leave this blank if the product doesn’t have a set price.
- If left blank, it will display as "Check for price" on the platform.
Description
A detailed description of the product.
Source URL*
The web address where the product can be purchased or viewed on your website.
Note: BusinessOpportunities.co.za is a syndication platform. It aggregates your listings and provides links back to your website.
Main Image URL
- The URL of the product image.
- To find this, go to your product page, right-click on the product image, and select "Copy image address". Paste the copied URL into this field.
Category
- Categories are crucial for ensuring your product appears alongside relevant content.
- By default, your product will appear on your profile and the platform’s main product page.
- Adding a category provides additional exposure, increasing views, clicks, and potential sales.
Status*
Controls the visibility of the product on the platform.
- Options:
- Published: Default setting; makes the product live and visible.
- Draft: Use for products in progress or under review.
- Archived: For products you’ve retired but don’t want to delete.
Note: Both Draft and Archived products are visible only to you and do not accrue analytics data.

To add a single product to the platform, follow these steps:
Click the "Add Single Product" button
This button is located below the Add Products input field on your user profile page.
Fill out the form
The form will have the following fields (required fields are marked with an asterisk):
Form Fields
Title*
The name of your product.
Price
Enter the price of the product.
If left blank, the platform will display "Check for price."
Description
A detailed description of your product.
Source URL*
The web address where the product can be viewed or purchased.
Note: BusinessOpportunities.co.za acts as a syndication platform, directing potential customers to the source link for purchases.
Main Image URL
Enter the URL of the product image.
To find this, visit the product page on your website, right-click on the image, select "Copy image address", and paste the URL here.
Category
Categories help ensure your product appears in relevant searches and alongside similar items.
By default, products appear on your profile and the main product page. Assigning a category increases visibility and may boost views, clicks, and sales.
Status*
Determines product visibility on the platform.
Options:
Published: Default setting; makes the product live and visible.
Draft: For products being prepared or reviewed.
Archived: For products no longer live but kept for record purposes.
Note: Both Draft and Archived statuses are private and do not generate analytics data.
Save Your Product
Once you’ve completed the form, click the Save button to publish the product.
